Applied Plant Ecology

Welcome!

Our research and teaching activities have two focuses: In the field of ‘Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning’, we investigate patterns and mechanisms of plant biodiversity and its relevance for particular ecosystem functions in wetlands and urban habitats. In the field of ‘Ecophysiology and Stress’, we analyze short- and long-term adaptations of plants to stressful conditions (e.g. reduced water availability, salinity and hypoxia).
