Herbarium Hamburgense
The Herbarium of the University of Hamburg preserves more than 1.8 Mill specimens and belongs to the large, internationally important scientific plant collections. The global diversity of all plant groups is well documented and the collections cover a time period of more than 200 years. The Herbarium Hamburgense is an essential resource for biodiversity and evolutionary research. The collections form an unique environmental archive and serve as a tool and repository for taxonomic, phylogenetic-systematic and ecological research not only at the Institute of Plant Science and Microbiology but also in international research cooperations.
