DNA Cloning Service produces DNA for scientific and commercial purposes. This includes the bioinformatic and practical construction of synthetic genes, gene expression optimization, PCR cloning and DNA fragment assembly in plasmids. Students have the opportunity to complete an internship or final thesis projects (Bachelor, Master) at DNA Cloning Service.

The research group Food Microbiology is investigating the occurrence and significance of microorganisms in food with the aim of improving the quality and safety of food. One focus is on foodborne pathogens and food spoilage microorganisms and methods for preserving food. Another focus is on starter culture microorganisms and the fermentation of food. Courses and theses on food microbiology topics are offered.
