Prof. Dr. Marianne Mix

The founder of the Hamburg Microalgae collection Prof. Dr. Marianne Mix passed away on 7th of July 2014 at the age of 86.

Marianne Mix has contributed essentially to our understanding of the cytology of Zygnematophyceae. In the MZCH collection many cultures established by Marianne Mix are being cultivated.
