Schwerpunkte
- I am an agronomist and ecosystem ecologist. My research mainly focuses on plants functional responses (mainly the belowground) to environmental gradients using a trait-based ecology approach and relate them to ecosystem services, mostly in temperate ecosystems (agroforest, forest and crop systems); Developing methods of image acquisition and phenotyping. I am also an image analysis software enthusiast.
- Current research project: I am supporting the Earth Commission’s Working Group on Biosphere Interactions (“biosphere defenders”) which aims to specify the extent and integrity of biomes and ecosystems to stay within a “safe and just corridor” for people and the planet.
