Research interest
I am interested in the functioning and dynamics of marine ecosystems. Especially, I investigate the dynamics of marine fish populations. Using models, I explore these dynamics regarding natural variability in the population, variability through e.g. fishing pressure and climate change and regime-shift-like dynamics.
Ultimately, I want to develop scenarios of population dynamics influenced by various factors, giving recommendations and advancing management decisions on these populations
Current projects
CLICCS (“Climate, Climatic Chance, and Society”).
I am a Postdoc in the Cluster of Excellence CLICCS, in the C3 Project:” Sustainable Adaptation Scenarios for Coastal Systems”.
The overall aim of CLICCS is to find answers to which climate futures are possible and which are plausible. Thus, I investigate climate change and fishery scenarios for the North Sea fish populations. For this, I use the end-to-end ecosystem model ATLANTIS which offers a useful management strategy evaluation tool to explore trade-offs of various human impacts on the fish populations under a changing climate.
