Visit of the new XFEL
9 April 2018, by Sigrun Reumann
Sigrun Reumann and Dirk Warnecke attended together with colleagues of the Department of Biology the European XFEL (X-ray laser research center) to get information about possible future collaborations. The world's largest X-ray laser is placed in a 3,4-km long tunnel between the campus Bahrenfeld in Hamburg and a town Schenefeld in Schleswig-Holstein. The research center opens up completely new research opportunities for scientists, for instance, to analyse the structure of protein complexes.
