Micromorphology and Anatomy
Not all important characters of a plant can be observed with the naked eye or a simple hand lens. Many structures are very small, and often hidden inside the plant body. Such tiny or hidden characters, however, can provide much information, both about the relationships of a plant and about its adaptations to its environment. Therefore, we examine many of our study objects also with the light microscope or the scanning electron microscope, which often yield stunning images of a hidden world.
