Prof.Dr. Inga Hense
My research deals with marine ecosystem modeling, focusing specifically on plankton dynamics: life cycle and life history of phytoplankton, including evolutionary processes, harmful algae, the role of marine biota in the climate system through biogeochemical and biological-physical interaction and feedback mechanisms.
I develop and use a wide range of advanced marine ecosystem models, which are applied to idealized process studies as well as in realistic configurations.
