The immediate environment affects plant growth and development. It is highly important for the plant to achieve an integration of all environmental stimuli and to optimize a concerted response. We are investigating basic regulatory machanisms of development and stress physiology to understand signaling and physiological requirements for plant defense, senescence, cell death, ans stress tolerance. Our work has a focus on the structure and function of ubiquitin ligases and immune receptors as well as on other (hormone) signaling components. We use state-of-the-art techniques from molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, physiology, cell and structure biology to test our research hypotheses.
