Contact Persons in the Event of Misconduct
Contact Persons for Employees and, if Applicable, Their Superiors
- The Department Leadership and Representatives
- The Heads of the four Departmental Institutes
- The Equal Opportunities Officers of the four Departmental Institutes
- The contact Person for Sexualized Discrimination and Harassment at UHH, Angelina Baster
All of these people will take the time to listen to your experiences — which are always negative in such cases — treat the contents of the conversation confidentially, and will work with you to immediately improve the situation, clarify the assaults, as well as initiate the necessary measures to prevent any recurrence in the best possible way.
Please do not hesitate to seek advice and support as soon as the first tendencies become apparent, so that more serious stressful situations can be avoided as far as possible. Sometimes it can be helpful to gain certainty about your own perception by looking at the situation together and sorting it out. In general, however, any action perceived as an assault must be considered and clarified as such - regardless of the intention behind it.
If, in addition to the social counseling provided by Ms. Baster, you need or would like more information regarding the legal perspective, you can contact the complaints office in accordance with the General Equal Treatment Act and take further steps there if necessary.
