From February 2 to 4, the Biology Department held its professors' retreat in Harsefeld. The goal was to promote networking among the professors and to discuss future research ideas and teaching in the highly sought-after biology degree programs.

Innovative research projects and teaching concepts were discussed in intensive talks and debates. Several excellent sub-projects in research and teaching were defined, the progress of which will be reviewed in a few months at a faculty meeting at one of the department's locations. It remains to be seen which approaches can be pursued in the context of the impending structural process.
