Projects for MSc and BSc students
If you are interested in carrying out an MSc or BSc project with the Plankton Ecology and Evolution group, please contact Elisa Schaum directly. Below, we list past BSc and MSc projects (previous three years, starting with the more recent theses) to give you an idea of the type of research that you would find yourself involved in. Our main projects shift between, for example, molecular and experimental approaches, data-based research, ship- and lab-based experiments. Types of organisms span phytoplankton from marine and freshwater temperate and polar regios, as well as their bacteria and viruses. Generally, if you are interested in how aquatic microbes rule the world and how this may change in the future, you have come to the right place. We typically supervise MSc and BSc projects as a team, so you would likely be working with a post doctoral researcher, or a PhD candidate, and me. We also often offer projects with external collaboraters in Germany and abroad.
