Two positions available in our group: PhD and Technician
8 April 2025
There are currently two open positions available in our lab and we are looking for applications until April 25 (now the deadline is extended until May 3rd for the first position!):
Fully funded PhD project (3 years): in this project you will use biological collections, data science and some field work to understand how arthropod communities change in response to climate change. It is part of a collaborative project at University of Hamburg and LIB. While the project in my lab will look at the community level (including traits), collaborating projects will look into (evolutionary) changes within species. As this is a purely research position, knowledge of German is not required. Note that the start date (tentatively June) is somewhat flexible.
Technician / lab manager (permanent): a great position for someone who likes to be involved in the research process without themselves having to "publish or perish". We are looking for someone to support field, lab and computer work, and help establish and maintain lab routines to safeguard good scientific practice and occupational safety. Some ability to communicate in German will be required. The range of tasks is broad, so if you match some of the expectations well (e.g., are enthusiastic about nature, insect collections or data management), I encourage you to apply even if you do not fulfil all of the requirements.
We are looking forward to you joining the Animal Network Ecology!
