We had our own stand in the Loki-Schmidt-Garten on International Biodiversity Day. Despite the changeable weather, many interested visitors found their way to us - there was something for everyone, from young to old.
At our stand, guests were able to immerse themselves in our world of books and learn about exciting topics relating to plants, animals and networks. Our microscopes were particularly popular, revealing the small wonders of nature: tiny insects from our own collections could be examined very closely. We also invited visitors to join in: Everyone could try their hand at our puzzle about insects in a fun way.
A special highlight was our presentation on the flowering meadow, in which we provided insights into the biodiversity and networks of our near-natural area. Many visitors took the opportunity to find out more about this important project and ask questions.
It was great to see how different age groups enthusiastically discovered how diverse and fascinating the world of network ecology is.
We are already looking forward to taking part in future events and getting even more people excited about nature.
