Landesforschungsförderung "BIKON - Enstehung, Dynamik und Funktion von biomolekularen Kondensaten in Entwicklung und Stressresistenz von Organismen"
The BIKON research consortium, funded by the Hamburg State Research Funding (LFF), investigates the structure, dynamics, and function of biomolecular condensates. Biomolecular condensates are cellular reaction compartments without a membrane. The local concentration of molecules in condensates is a fundamental principle of the regulation of biochemical processes in living organisms. The interdisciplinary research consortium of the University of Hamburg (UHH) and DESY is investigating the function and regulation of these condensates in the stress response within cellular and organismic contexts. The project is funded with about 1 million Euros.
In the context of BIKON we are heading the project "Heat induced condensates in the regulation of translation".
