Since October 1, 2025, Prof. Dr. Elisa Schaum, the former deputy spokesperson, has become the new spokesperson for RTG 2530. Prof. Dr. Kai Jensen, the former spokesperson, will continue as her deputy until Junior Prof. Dr. Philipp Porada takes over this role in April 2026.
“It is an honour to take on this new role – thank you Kai for trusting me with continuing this RTG, and I hope I will be able to do it justice. I am looking forward to working with this brilliant group of PhDs and more senior researchers,” says Elisa Schaum about stepping into the position.
Kai Jensen reflects gratefully on the past years and looks forward confidently to the future of the RTG: “Thanks to everybody – it was a once in a lifetime experience to act as a spokesperson for RTG 2530. It was great to support so many doctoral researchers, and to see them growing to become more independent scientists! Now, it is time to pave the way for new developments in the RTG. I am really glad that Elisa agreed to take over the task of acting as a spokesperson. With her, the doctoral researchers will have a very strong supporter, and I see a bright future for research and qualification in RTG 2530 in the years to come!”
The spokesperson and the deputy spokesperson lead, coordinate and represent the RTG 2530. They are supported by the advisory board and the Mercator Fellows as well as the office of the RTG 2530.
