Applications for Brasil Norte-Sul expedition project
28. Januar 2016, von Florian Zeller
The Centre for Wood Sciences at University Hamburg, together with the Forestry Science Centre at Federal University Paraná offers a unique summer school expedition through South American forestry realities.
The Brasil Norte-Sul project is an academic, technological and cultural experience in sustainable forests from the Atlantic South to the Pacific North of Brazil. The essential part of the project is an expedition which lasts approximately 25 days (SuSe 2016). Students from several German and South American universities have had insights into the Araucaria forests in South Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and its worldwide largest urban forest, the mountainous areas in Minas Gerais, national parks, Savanna vegetation, Pantanal (world’s largest swamp lands) and the Western Amazon forests in Brazil, Bolivia and Peru.
In 2013 a video documentary was produced via GIZ support: (www.giz.de/akademie/de/html/3271.html).
