Research interest
I enjoy building computational tools and models to study applied problems. Currently I mostly work on plankton dynamics in the Elbe estuary but are interested in a wide range of problems.
Current projects
GRK 2530:
Biota-mediated effects on Carbon cycling in Estuaries
Large scale reseach project (~15 researchers for 6 years) to get an overview on all major carbon pathways both marine and terrestrial in the Elbe estuary.
Personally I work on plankton drift behavior and retention mechanisms.
North Sea Review:
A review project that studies publications (~6000) on antropogenic drivers in the North Sea.
We try to create a overview of reseach topics and trends over time and space and to better understand what is studied, why, and by whom.
