to the homepage of the working group food microbiology and biotechnology. We are a good example of close cooperation within the MIN Faculty, as we are part of the Institute of Food Chemistry of the Department of Chemistry, but in the field of microbiology and biotechnology we are located in the Institute of Plant Sciences and Microbiology of the Department of Biology in Klein Flottbek.
Our main focus in research is:
- Submerged fermentations
- Solid substrate fermentations
- Fermentations for the production and nutritional improvement of food
- Fermentations for the processing of food waste
We are involved in teaching in four study programmes:
