Homosporous Sporangia

The first plants that we will study have only one type of
Sporangium!

All of the Spores produced within it have the
same size and appearance.

Plants like this are said to be Homosporous.

The spores from Homosporous plants generally produce
Bisexual Gametophytes that produce
Archegonia and Antheridia.

However, in some Homosporous species half of the spores produce Female Gametophytes while the other half produce
Male Gametophytes
